Visiting the Foobank

Our goal is to make the foodbank an informal and friendly place, where guests and volunteers feel welcome and safe.

When you arrive at the Foodbank on Thursday morning, you first check in at the front desk to let us know what you need this week. While your bags are being packed by volunteers, you can enjoy a cooked breakfast, or a piece of cake, and a hot drink, provided by Home Café.

If it’s your first visit to the Foodbank, we will take you through our registration process. This involves a short interview, where we take some basic details and ask a few questions about a guest’s current situation.  This enables us to identify which other services we can bring in to help.

You can chat with other guests and volunteers, or book in to talk to a representative from Citizens Advice Wandsworth (CAW), St Mungo’s or Family Action Wandsworth Wellfamily, all of whom can give confidential advice and support – please see the support services page for more details.

Once your bags are packed, the volunteers on the back desk will let you know they’re ready.
